How do Slopes work???

I wasnt here in class today and we learned about them.

ex. Point A = 3,2
Point B = 5,4

Find the slope.

How do you do this???? Detail, please and Im only in grade 9 so please hgt

use the equation:
Slope is equal to the variable "m"
the equation is m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

You have two points A and B
a point is given in the format (x, y)

So, if A is point 1, (3, 2) = (x1, y1)
x1 = 3
y1=2

So, if B is point 2, (5, 4) = (x2, y2)
x2 = 5
y2 = 4

so, using the equation
m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)
m = (4 - 2) / (5 - 3)
m = 2 / 2
m = 1

your slope is 1.
