How do I install a garage door opener to an old garage door that is one solid door (not sectional)?
I just bought a house with an older garage. The garage door is one solid door that raise up and into the garage. The only track system is on the top to guide the door into the garage. Door is attached to a spring for easier opening and closing and has 2 pivot points I think.
My main question is: "Is it possible to put a garage door opener on a door like this?"
Secondly, "How do I install said garage door opener?"
I also bought an old house that has the solid garage door. I was able to have a garage door opener installed. They put a track system on the sides & 1 overhead so it slides up & down w/ ease. My father-in-law just had 1 installed & his was over 50 years old. We left it to the professionals, the cost out wayed the headaches of doing it ourselves.
