Metal detectors at the airport?

Now I'm going on a flight to Los Angeles to see a concert and then a cruise, but I want to bring a lot of metal accessories like chains, bracelets with metal charms, studded belts, chains shirts, Joined pants, makeup, and a DVD player with clothes (of course). Now that I heard from my mother who they confiscate all metal and all that, but she babbles shit ... but that made me nervous, I mean my stuff means a lot to me and I do not want airport security to throw my stupid Business in the trash like they did with my magnetic marbles-_-can someone help? like what should I do to avoid this and go undercover essentially smuggling?

e eregulations check and do not take these things with CarryOn tip = try not to make many bracelets belts .... cuz etc then ULL get a bad image.
