is it better to use a tube (pipe) cutter or a hacksaw to cut down a shotgun barrel?

im goin to measure it about 19 inches barrel lenght and i cant find any videos of how to do it on youtube or anything?

You can do this at home. The trick is to insure that you cut it off square to the bore. One technique is to use a pipe cutter to mark a line around the barrel, with the thought of giving guidance to your saw. Once that line is established, make many short cuts around the barrel with a hacksaw on the line. Continue making short cuts until they join up and then continue to deepen them until the barrel is cut through. Once that is done, file the burrs off the barrel, using a square to insure that the cut stays square to the bore. Use emery cloth to finish the edge, and apply cold blue.

A better method involves putting the barrel into a lathe, this gives a better cut and it is always square to the bore.
