Dresser Grit

a few pointers on sanding would be nice...?
sanding a desk and dresser with 80 grit sandpaper right now and it seems to be going along fairly good but i was told that once i stain it a dark color*(to make it look good) all the scratches from the sanding would stick out like a sour thumb so i bought some 120 grit paper as well, should i get any other finer sndpaper such as 300 grit?
try some 220 grit or so for your final sanding. Use your 120 grit as an intermediary between the 80 and the finer. Good luck!
